More than 100 rheumatology patient advocates, including physicians, health professionals and patients took to Capitol Hill in early September for The American College of Rheumatology’s (ACR) annual Advocates for Arthritis event. Advocates called on legislators to support bills that would reform insurance company medication trial policies (ie: step therapy or “fail first”) and address the rheumatology workforce shortage which jeopardizes timely access to patient care.

Dr. Farrell once said, “with rare conditions like systemic sclerosis, every aspect of medical care can be met with a roadblock, especially when it comes to insurance coverage for medication.” Now one less roadblock for this patient population exists. In recognition of her efforts, the Scleroderma Foundation awarded her the 2019 Doctor of the Year. Congratulations Dr. Farrell!

The Center for Rheumatology is both proud and grateful to announce that they were published in the Albany Business Review’s April 2019 “Largest Physician Practice Groups” edition. Our goal is to remain a strong and independent practice, so to be acknowledged by the Albany Business Group is truly an honor.
