The Center for Rheumatology, LLP, with offices in Queensbury, Saratoga Springs, Scotia, and Albany, announces the affiliation of Dr. Tej Bhavsar, who will be seeing patients in the Queensbury and Saratoga Springs offices. He will be joining Dr. Ellen Cosgrove in the Saratoga Springs and Queensbury offices and Dr. Faisal Chaudhary, Dr. Lee Shapiro and Nurse Practitioner Laura Newey in Saratoga Springs.
Dr. Bhavsar is a graduate of Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. He completed his residency in medicine at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland. California and his fellowship in adult Rheumatology at the University of New Mexico. He has training in all aspects of rheumatology and has particular interest in the management of ankylosing spondylitis and vasculitis. He has a deep and long-term interest in a multimodal approach to care, employing a variety of healing arts, including allopathic, naturopathic, holistic, kinetic, and Ayurvedic medicine.
A native of the Shawangunk mountains, northwest of New York City, Dr. Bhavsar has an undergraduate degree from SUNY Binghamton . Upon completion of his medical residency in California, Dr. Bhavsar practiced in varied settings including primary care, urgent care, and hospital medicine at the University of California at Berkeley, Kaiser Permanente in San Diego, CA, and in Albuquerque, NM. He completed his Rheumatology fellowship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque June 2017. Prior to the fellowship, Dr. Bhavsar received extensive training in the holistic medical discipline of Ayurvedic medicine under the tutelage of world renowned Ayurvedic physician, Dr. Vasant Lad, while also completing a 200hr yoga certification course in therapeutic, Ayurvedic based yoga. He has spent years refining his skills as both an
Ayurvedic practitioner and a yoga instructor Having previously publishing research in the field of radiation oncology, he is currently in the process of publishing innovative research in the practical field of knee arthrocentesis. In his spare time Dr. Bhavsar enjoys time with family, outdoor sports, playing music and gardening.
